Grant Making Policy
The primary focus of the Keller Foundation will be to encourage innovative
programs for core city youth of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Grant giving may
include programs in the areas of education, environment, health, human services,
and the arts such as:

Exposure to performing and visual arts

Creation of public spaces like gardens, parks,
etc.

After-school programs
-
Teacher enrichment programs
-
Effective parenting programs
-
School readiness programs
-
Opportunities for access to cultural and
environmental centers
-
Educational visits to local institutions and
businesses
-
Programs that provide safe, nurturing
environments for children
-
Drug prevention programs
Grant Application Procedure
These guidelines will be
helpful in the application process.

An organization must be a nonprofit group, as
classified by the Internal Revenue Service under section 501c3 of the tax
code.

Applications should include a cover letter
that introduces the organization and makes a strategic link between the
proposal and the Foundation’s vision. New applicants are encouraged to use
the Keller Foundation’s grant application form with a cover letter.
- The Trustees do not conduct personal
interviews with applicants except upon the Foundation’s initiative. They will
review most grant requests annually in July with some periodic reviews
occurring during the year.
